Reading: We'll read stories, poems, and novels together as a class. You'll also be required to read 2-4 books on your own each quarter. See the links on the right for info on independent reading.
Writing: My students write frequently. We write most days in class. Not everything you write will be graded, but my goal is that you learn something from every piece that you write. We'll have a couple of "big papers" per quarter in addition to the shorter pieces.
Grammar: We'll have two grammar units per quarter. Good times!
Vocabulary: You'll receive a short vocab list and assignment every Wednesday. There will be a test on vocab words at the end of each quarter.
Supplies: Each day you need to bring your laptop, a notebook, and a writing utensil. You MUST bring your independent reading book on Fridays.
